Mango Tree. Thai cuisine to European taste

WHEN RELATIVES OR FRIENDS COME TO ME AT THE GUEST, I ALWAYS TAKE THE QUESTION IN WHICH THE RESTAURANT WILL CONSIDER THEM. I WANT TO SEE THE MOST IMPORTANT RESPONSIBILITY. UNUSUAL, WITH DECENT SERVICE AND IN A PLEASANT ATMOSPHERE. AND, OF COURSE, ALL THESE PLEASURES ARE AT ACCEPTABLE PRICES.

One of Dubai's sunny winter days, I was lucky enough to take a table on the terrace of the Thai restaurant Mango Tree, which is located in a small shopping center, stylized as an Arabian market, Souk Al Bahar. In fact, finding a free place outdoors on a similar day is not so easy - the restaurant is popular and its visitors prefer to enjoy lunch or dinner while admiring the fancy play of musical fountains. Therefore, it is better to worry about the table a few days in advance. The interior is also quite cozy and beautiful: the stylish hall is divided into two parts - a stylish bar / restaurant and a private area.

Our place turned out to be at the very "side" of the terrace, from where a magnificent structure was clearly visible, the windows of which reflected sunbeams, echoing with glare on the water. Sometimes splashes of fountains reached us, which, however, did not interfere at all, and even refreshed. In such a peaceful atmosphere, I wanted to spend time longer, given that the changes of numerous dishes still did not end there.

Of all the varieties of oriental cuisine, I love Thai the most, for the delicate combination of contrasting tastes - sweet, sour, salty, bitter and spicy. There is no spicy-burning Indian pungency and heavy Chinese sweetness in it. Everything is subtle and airy. The three main ingredients of Thai cuisine: rice, chili and coconut milk, were complemented by a fragrant tropical fruit in the Mango Tree. Which do you think? Of course, according to the name of the institution - mango! This product has met us literally in every dish, at least in the form of decoration. Perhaps, only in my favorite piquant seafood tom yam we did not notice it.

Crispy fried spring rolls with vegetables, chicken in sweet and sour sauce with nuts, light salad with avocado, hot roasted lobster ... It was simply impossible to stop! Especially considering that the “Friday brunch” we came across includes an unlimited number of meal changes for the same price. If you didn’t eat everything, at least try. Despite the small portions, we were completely satisfied, and there was no more energy left and no place even for a vitamin cocktail of freshly squeezed juices. But for dessert, we were waiting for rice pudding cooked in coconut milk and garnished with slices of juicy mango. After such a tasty, hearty dinner, it was already not at all scary to go to nearby shops - they say that it is better to make purchases on a full stomach so as not to buy anything unnecessary ....

Of the rare minuses: the dishes are not as sharp as the originals; a table with a view of the fountains must be booked at least one week in advance; water, nevertheless, flies on the open terrace. From the pros: the dishes are adapted to the European taste, you can bring mom here; prices are very reasonable compared to other alcohol-licensed restaurants in the area; for dinner there is a discount of the Moskovsky club.
