Dubai Launches New Water Taxi Route

In Dubai, a new water taxi route through the city canal began to operate.

Dubai, UAE. The Dubai Roads and Transport Committee has launched a new water taxi route on the Dubai Canal, from Sheikh Zayed Highway Station. Taxis will run in test mode, which will help determine the demand for service among tourists.

Thanks to the new service, tourists will be able to see the sights of the center and the historical part of the emirate from water: the Burj Khalifa skyscraper, Festival City district, Dubai Creek Bay, Old Souq and Spice Souq markets, as well as Al Seef and La Mer promenades and beaches.

Taxis will run on Thursdays, at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., and also on Fridays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Water transport holds 21 passengers. The cost of the ticket is 50 dirhams (US $ 14) in silver and 75 (US $ 20.5) in gold.
