UAE to extend visas for widows and divorced women

In the United Arab Emirates, visas for widowed and divorced women will be extended.

As part of recent legislative initiatives, the UAE Cabinet has decided to extend visas for widowed or divorced women living in the UAE, as well as their children, for a year from the date of divorce or death of the spouse.

This decision grants widows, divorced women and their children the right to stay in the country for a period of one year without the need to provide sponsorship documents.

The measure aims to provide women with the opportunity to change their social and economic status.

The decision comes into force in the fourth quarter of this year and is part of the state policy aimed at meeting the basic needs of people living in the UAE.

The innovation takes into account the conditions in which widows and divorced women find themselves, and will help facilitate their stay in the country.

The measure is also aimed at maintaining the stability of families and the cohesion of society, confirms the position of the UAE as a state that lends a helping hand to representatives of any nationalities, as it was historically laid down by the founding fathers.
