UAE Christian Churches Unite For Prayer For Arab Emirates For First Time

Catholic, Anglican, Orthodox, and Evangelical churches come together to "pray for the United Arab Emirates."

For the first time in the UAE, Christian churches of various directions gathered under one roof to "pray for the United Arab Emirates."

Bishops, pastors, and priests from the Catholic, Anglican, Orthodox, and Evangelical churches, as well as hundreds of residents gathered this week at the Abu Dhabi National Theater on the eve of Christmas.

“This is our own way of celebrating the 46th National Day of the UAE,” said Pastor Joseph Faragalla, head of the Abu Dhabi Evangelical Church.

The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the General Directorate of Islamic Affairs and Donations and the Judicial Department of Abu Dhabi. The event was held under the patronage of the Minister of Tolerance Sheikh Nahayan bin Mubarak.

The ambassador of each church delivered a prayer for the country and its leadership.

Psychiatrist, teacher and philosopher Dr. Maher Samuel said: “We must express our gratitude to the country, which has opened its doors and heart for us, and to the leadership that has shared its wealth with us. Nowhere in the world is there such tolerance that the government even appoints a minister tolerance. I think we should all be grateful. "

He also asked that this gratitude be included in all prayers.

At the beginning of this month, another unprecedented event took place in the Arab world - an agreement was signed in Abu Dhabi, which gives the church the authority to marry, divorce and resolve issues of detention.

Now the priests will be in court, and non-Muslims who are about to file for a divorce will no longer have to turn to the Sharia procedure. The same rules will soon apply to wills.

Rev. Bisha Fahri, pastor of the Abu Dhabi Cathedral Church, said the new measures were a "model step."
