UAE residents offered a 50% discount on travel fines

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi has ordered the entry into force of a 50 percent discount on travel fines in the United Arab Emirates.

In honor of the “Year of Giving” and the 46th National Day of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the UAE Armed Forces, ordered the Ministry of the Interior, in coordination with the traffic departments, to reduce the cost of all paid road fines 50 percent in the country.

A 50 percent discount on fines for all traffic violations and fees will be valid from December 2, 2017. Fines must be paid within three months from the date of issue of the directive (December 1, 2017). After that, the full cost of the fines will be charged again.

According to the directives, motorists are strongly advised to follow the rules of the road and ensure the safety of life and property.

Abu Dhabi police previously announced a 50 percent discount on all travel fines in the capital. Abu Dhabi residents can take advantage of this discount by paying fines over the next 60 days, starting December 2.
