Real art cannot be a commodity. Usually, at various festivals and tours, various enterprises are shown, which are profanity of the Russian ballet brand. It is all the more surprising and pleasant that the performances of the ballet troupe under the direction of Timur Fayziev have already become a good tradition of demonstrating high skill.
The impressions of the Christmas “The Nutcracker” have not yet cooled down when the magical holiday again visited us - the “Russian Ballet Festival” opened the 2006 season with Shakespeare’s tragedy “Romeo and Juliet”. The stage composition of the troupe has slightly changed and expanded. The main parties of Romeo and Juliet are performed by prize-winners and laureates of numerous international competitions - Dmitry Smirnov, a graduate of the Bolshoi Theater Ballet School, who traveled around the world on tour and held master classes in Japan, and Yana Kazantseva. Their stage partners: Tybalt - Ivan Bogdan, who, as a student at the Chisinau School of Choreography, became the laureate of the Oleg Danovsky International Competition in Romania, and Mercutio - Roman Shuparsky, a graduate of the Saratov Choreographic School, winner of the competition named after Adamovsky.
The majestic music of Sergei Prokofiev predicts a passion from the very first scene of the play. The musical theme that accompanies the ball at the castle of Capulet, goes through variations throughout the performance. Artists do not just dance beautifully; they are so
expressive in the movements, that even the most inexperienced viewer who has never read Romeo and Juliet will understand the main plot of the family drama of the warring clans of Montecca and Capulet. The amazing plasticity of the dancers and the grace of the ballerinas attract and fascinate, the ballet looks "in one breath" and, despite the tragedy of the situation, leaves an impression of sublimity and spirituality.
The skill and professionalism of the dancers are felt in every movement, gesture and even look. Honored Artist Yana Kazantseva is a laureate of four international competitions, winner of Vaganova prizes for the best role and Natalia Makarskaya for performing skills. Juliet Kazantseva - the embodiment of tenderness, femininity and love. The scene of the night love affair of Romeo and Juliet is full of passion and mystery, dynamic and touching at the same time.
But nobody builds bright prospects: a secret wedding is far from an ideal beginning of a life together. In this performance, the spirit of death roams among people, pitting and provoking heroes. The effect of tension situations is enhanced by the aggressiveness of Prokofiev’s passages. Even the street festivities of the heroes, their meetings with girls, jokes, general dances are riddled with a heavy foreboding impending disaster. And here it is! Duel!
The Romeo peacemaker was unable to prevent a clash between two people close to him. And although the fight between Mercutio and Tybalt is entirely on Mercutio's conscience, Romeo remains the sole culprit of the tragedy.
The audience empathize with the lovers, supporting each scene with applause. Meanwhile, the performance is moving towards a sad ending. Juliet made a decision that is known only to the monk who secretly married the young couple. She carries out her plan and falls into a lethargic dream, like death. Juliet's parents are beside themselves with grief. They had to endure so much lately that even a persistent father falls into a state of trance, and the mother’s royal posture loses its position and “breaks” under the pressure of misfortunes.
Spectators are afraid to breathe once again; it is simply amazing how real art makes you so sincerely imbued with the idea of the author’s intention.
Romeo is inconsolable. He leaves after his beloved, who, waking up from oblivion, returns again to the blackness of nothingness, to be near Romeo. So that death would not part them .... The audience applauds, the actors are presented with flowers, the curtain is lowered. The performance is over, but the holiday will remain with us forever.
The classical school of Russian ballet is well known and appreciated throughout the world. Now Russian ballet has become widely known in the country, which has discovered the expressive language of classical dance. Samsung, the sponsor of the Romeo and Juliet performance in Dubai, in support of the development of theater and art in the UAE, handed Timur Fayzieva a check for $ 10,000 to the ballet troupe of the Festival of Russian Ballet.
