Dubai Gold and Jewelery Group (DGJG) together with the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Dubai Trade Festival (DSF) made the largest chain in the world.
The largest gold chain in the world was made in Dubai. The world record was recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. The bus stop for the Deira Gold Souk in Dubai has become the venue for the largest gold chain in the world.
The length of the golden chain, called the "Dubai Celebration Chain", is 5 kilometers. The product weighs at least 240 kilograms and has more than 4 million links, 100 craftsmen worked on it for 45 days.
Buyers were given the opportunity to pre-order parts of the record chain, weighing from 8 to 26 grams. Chain cuts were available at all participating DGJG outlets or kiosks located at Al Ghubaiba, Deira Gold Souk, Dubai Mall, Global Village, Lamcy Plaza, Lulu Qusais and Oasis Mall.
Dubai, for many years, is the world city and business center of the region. Continuing the record tradition, another world record dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the DSF was added to the piggy bank of the city.
