Design of the new store, in full accordance with tradition, are made using elements of architecture BRITISH Georgian period, or more precisely in the spirit of the architect John Soane, WHOSE, seemingly simple and classic style Designing a good captures the essence of "HACKETT LONDON" - this classic English brand MEN'S CLOTHING. JEREMY HACKETT, GENERAL DIRECTOR HACKETT LONDON, ARRIVED AT THE CEREMONY OF OPENING THE FIRST MIDDLE EASTERN BOUTIQUE, AND WERE CONSIDERED TO COME WITH THIS WONDERFUL Slightly Dumb.

Good afternoon, Mr. Hackett. I would like to introduce our readers closer to you. Please tell us a little about yourself.

It may seem funny to you, but I'm a real Briton who has been brought up and educated in Clifton (Bristol).

At 17, I got a job at a local fashion store for men. But a year later he moved to London, where he worked for the famous King's Road, before accepting the position of a seller in a sewing studio on Seville Row Street, known for its high-quality handmade clothes. It has become a good school for me. I studied with the best tailors.

I was young, and like all young people at all times I did not have enough cash, so I earned money by buying and reselling second-hand clothes at flea markets in London. Thanks to this, one fine day I met Ashley Lloyd-Jennings, whose tastes in fashion largely coincided with my preferences. Then we opened the first Hackett London store on the same Kings Road in London.

Jeremy, in recent years, men's fashion has undergone many changes and has largely departed from classical traditions. You continue to be a supporter of this English classic. How much is it in demand by modern men?

Adhering to tradition is not easy. You are right that many companies today offer men a more casual look, but we have one advantage - we, having started our business for a long time and successfully promoting it, remain one of the best tailors in London. In the UK, the services of private good tailors are still very popular today, so people from all over the world come to us to purchase a high-quality expensive suit tailored to their standards. Now, despite all the wealth of choice of ready-made clothes, it is very difficult to buy a good suit, therefore, there is Hackett London. Our regular customers never cheat on us.

Fashion trends are constantly changing, and even a classic men's suit does not look like it did in the 1950s. Tell me, please, what did the Hackett London brand bring to the graphics of modern English classics?

When I look at our collections 20 years ago and compare them with today's ones, it seems to me that they practically do not differ from each other. I am sure that men's fashion is more conservative and changes much more slowly and imperceptibly than women's. And even if I offer my clients to slightly narrow or expand the lapel of the jacket, most of them tell me: “Oh, no! This is probably too much! I can’t go for it.” So, in our classic business, you need to do everything gradually so as not to upset the client. But still, over the past twenty years we have become famous recognizable brand, and this is important. And by the way, many of my regular customers do not know famous brands of fashionable clothes and will be amazed if I name them. They are not interested in the latest fashion trends. They just come to me and say: “I need a beautiful blue blazer!”, And then come back in a couple of years and ask: “Remember, I bought a blue blazer from you? Can I buy the same?”

How do you manage to meet the tastes of different customers - high and low, thin and solid physique?

We have developed some of the most popular silhouettes of classic men's jackets and blazers - with one, two or three buttons, so we can safely offer costumes of appropriate proportions to gentlemen of different physiques. The sizes in our boutiques begin with the practically child's 36th (thanks to our customers in Japan) and end with the 58th. This helps us dress everyone who comes into the store. After all, Hackett London is not only and not so much clothes, how much the relation to the client and the general atmosphere. I am convinced that attention to every person is the key to success, and if a gentleman went to a boutique to buy a pair of socks or a tie and felt that he was treated with due attention, he will definitely return to you for a suit, coat, cane ...

Why did you decide to open the Hackett London Monoboutique in Dubai?

Today, Hackett London has 36 separate independent brand stores and 44 departments worldwide. For the last couple of years, we have been selling our collections in multi-brand department stores in the UAE, and we felt that there is a demand for our collections, especially among those men who do not pay attention to big names in the fashion world and are looking for something special, well sitting on it, corresponding to his tastes. I believe that opening your own boutique here is a logical step.

The total area of the store is 160 square meters. meters, and outside it looks like a house standing on Savile Row in London. The Dubai boutique consists of four spacious sections. To the left of the entrance are Hackett Mayfair tracksuits and sports collections. To the right are the Aston Martin Racing by Hackett and Hackett Mayfair collections. Next are the accessories room and the cash desk. In my opinion, everything is concise, convenient and beautiful.

How large is the army of regular Hackett London fans today?

I guess I should know the exact numbers, but I don’t know them (laughs). However, I often see people who bought things from me 25 years ago, when I was still working as a simple seller in a men's clothing store. I also know that products from our collections are bought by Russian-speaking men who permanently live in London. In addition, very young people began to pay attention to Hackett London.

You are considered a major specialist in men's fashion and you constantly repeat the word "gentleman". Can I get some style tips from Jeremy Hackett?

In 2007, I released the book “Mr Classic”, in which I presented a sharp satirical analysis of male style. For the most part, this creation of mine was received positively. Many male style experts have called “Mr Classic” a publication that “should get anyone who is serious about clothing.” In any case, this is a book for those who appreciate the wonderful things in life and want to always be a fashionista. Regarding style counseling, yes, I give advice through the “Ask Jeremy” portal on my website.

Thanks for the conversation, Jeremy. I hope that you will be able to instill good taste in many men who live or find themselves in Dubai. I wish you success.

I thank you for your interest in Hackett London, but I dare to assure you that a true gentleman is not only a suit. Education, manners - everything matters. If a person is dressed in a well-tailored suit, but at the same time behaves in a hooligan manner, it’s unlikely to be called a gentleman ...

Well, that’s it - Mr. Classic. Professional tailor what to look for. Stylist, in modern language. A man with an extraordinary sense of humor. Jeremy Hackett. See you again.
